Water is Life
water is life is a charitable initiative of the Lions Club Monteceneri to bring water to countries lacking it.
Water shortages still affect, even today, too many areas of the world, leaving millions of people-especially children-in absolute poverty.
Lack of water and/or drinking water is a major reason for infant mortality.
Since 2003, water is life has helped thousands of people in distant countries by funding water wells, pumps, filters, pipelines, fountains and irrigation systems.

SoS Infanzia
How did the idea for the Foundation come about? Two people (Giovanna Coldesina and Federico Mari), two entities (the Lions Club Monteceneri and the Associazione Telefono SOS Infanzia), two anniversaries (10th for the LCM and 20th for ATSI) and a common idea: that of establishing a charitable foundation. Thus it was that in 2009 the Associazione Telefono SOS Infanzia and the Lions Club Monteceneri joined forces to establish the Fondazione SOS Infanzia.
Numbers are also important
Lugano Elegance in addition to being an Elegance Competition issued by Lions in Classic, is an opportunity to raise funds for organizations and associations deemed worthy.
Approx. CHF 140,000 has been donated to charitable activities in the past 8 years.
